Dress Code:

As directed by school board policy, students are expected to dress in accordance with acceptable community standards.  Students are expected to comply with the following:

    1.  Shoes must be worn at all times.  For safety reasons, shoes that are worn on the entire foot are preferred.  Soccer flip-flops are not allowed.

    2.  Hats, caps, bandannas, and sunglasses may not be worn in the building or on the buses at any time.

    3.  Pants must be worn at the waist without underwear exposed. With respect to school safety issues, clothing should fit and be neat.  Oversized garments will not be allowed during the school day.  Room temperatures will be maintained so that oversized clothing will not be needed.

    4.  Clothing, (including shorts, skorts, skirts, dresses, etc.) should cover the greater percentage of the leg from knee to hip when sitting down. Clothing shorter than four (4") above the kneecap may be inappropriate on many students.  Students should be able to sit down or participate in activities without having to pull clothing to cover.

    5.  Articles of clothing which advertise drugs, tobacco, alcoholic beverages, or subversive activities are not permitted.  Clothing with profane, vulgar, or suggestive pictures or slogans are also not permitted.  (Example:  wrestling shirts)

    6.  Students are expected to wear appropriate and suitable undergarments.

    7.  The following are considered inappropriate:

bullet    Tank top shirts, see-through clothing
bullet    Clothing that exposes the midriff area (front or back) or plunging necklines
bullet    Clothing that is deliberately torn, cut, or otherwise modified
bullet    Tight fitting clothing-spandex, biker shorts, etc.

bullet    Pajamas

bullet    Halter tops, crop-tops, spaghetti strap tees, and tops with shoulders cut in
bullet    Transparent clothing
bullet    No tongue or body piercing.  While pierced earrings have been acceptable for many years, pierced lips, tongues, noses, eyebrows, etc. cause quite a disturbance among students.

Students will receive two warnings.  On the third time they will go to ISS.  Parents will be called on all incidents.
